A yellow alert has been issued for Delhi-NCR, warning that starting Wednesday, April 16, the mercury is expected to soar past 40 C, intensifying the heatwave conditions in the coming days.
The maximum temperature is expected to reach 41 degrees on April 16, and 42 degrees on April 17 and 18. When a yellow alert is sounded, heat is tolerable for general public but poses moderate health concerns for vulnerable people — infants, elderly people with chronic diseases.
