The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Monday fact-checked opposition leaders who held a mega protest led by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha. Rahul Gandhi, against the poll panel and rejected their allegations of “vote chori (vote fraud)” as “factually incorrect”.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), the poll panel posted a screenshot of a social media post by Rahul Gandhi in which he thanked all INDIA bloc leaders who joined the protest march and alleged vote theft, stamping it as “MISLEADING”.
The poll authority also shared details of its meetings with representatives of political parties before, on and after publication of draft electoral rolls in Bihar. It contending that it was committed to the highest degree of transparency at the field level while conducting the SIR exercise.
